Apprenticeships

On-the-Job + In-the-Classroom

As a sponsored apprentice or employee, you learn with theory classes and hands-on lab taught by experienced instructors and combine that with real-world work on the job with your employer.

The classes and labs happen at the Automation and Robotics Center on the TechWorks campus in downtown Waterloo. Local manufacturers sponsoring apprenticeships change over time.

Earn and Learn

To enter an apprenticeship program, begin with your employer or one you’d like to work for. Talk with their human resources (HR) team to see if an apprenticeship is possible and how to begin.
